PROPOSED EXTENSION OF KL MONORAIL LINE
The existing 8.6km long Kuala Lumpur monorail runs from KL Sentral to Titiwangsa. MRCB proposed to extend the monorail services between KL Sentral and Taman OUG. The proposed alignment comprises 8.8km of track with 10 stations. Station 1 would interchange with existing KL Monorail, KTM Kommuter, the Kelana Jaya LRT Line and ERL. Station 3 would interchange with KTM Komuter and Station 10 would interchange with Kelana Jaya LRT. The Depot for this extension would be situated near to Station 8 at Taman Danau Desa. The monorail extension would provide linkages to primary corridors and serve key communities and business districts in the south of Kuala Lumpur. In addition, it would provide interchange opportunities with the proposed MRT Circle Line. HSS was engaged to develop the concept plan and undertake preliminary engineering design and costing of the works.
