ECRL PROJECT (KOTA BHARU TO DUNGUN), MALAYSIA

The ECRL for Northern Section will be an electrified single track railway line built on a double track formation, approximately 210.5km in length for the mainline with another 16.5km of a future spur line hence totaling 227 km in length with 6 nos of stations at Kota Bharu, Pasir Puteh, Jerteh, Bandar Permaisuri, Kuala Terengganu & Dungun. ECRL will be a Heavy Rail line that will provide railway connections to areas currently less well connected in Peninsular Malaysia. It will serve as a direct link from the East Coast Region to Putrajaya and Port Klang. It will provide services to the major cities in Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang for residents as well as local and foreign tourists to the many well-known beaches and islands in the Region.
