SEVEN OVER–RAILWAY CROSSING AND GRADE SEPARATED INTERCHANGES
As part of an integrated scheme to upgrade the existing single railway track linking Kuala Lumpur to Rawang, Seremban and Port Klang to double tracking, seven level crossings required replacement using composite steel/concrete grade-separated flyovers/interchanges. HSS was engaged to design the road-over-railway crossings and grade-separated interchanges at four locations in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
HSS’s services included topographical survey, geotechnical investigation and traffic impact assessment studies, land acquisition plans, utilities relocation and bridge structural design, including general arrangements and foundation design. HSS obtained approvals from utility authorities, KTMB and JKR and also prepared quantities, tender documents and contract documents. Additionally, HSS provided on-site supervision and contract administration during construction.
