COAL HANDLING JETTY & ASSOCIATED WORKS FOR MELAK PORT, INDONESIA

As part of Adaro Met Coal Basin Development, the Client is studying the option of commencing coal barging operations on the Mahakam River in order to transport the coal from near the mine location to a transhipment facility where it can be loaded on ocean going vessels. From the mine site, the coal will be transported by truck and/or conveyed to a Melak Port facility on the Mahakam River.

The proposed Murawai Coal Project is to be developed in the vicinity of Lampunut in Central Kalimantan. The coal will initially be conveyed to the plant area located some 35 km southeast of the mine and after processing will be transported along a haul road to a loadout area adjacent to the Mahakam River (immediately south of Melak). The haul road will be approximately 110 km in length.  The coal will then be barged approximately 430 kilometres to a deep water handling and transhipment facility at the mouth of the Mahakam near the Samarinda Delta.
