WORLD BANK HIGHWAY REHABILITATION PROJECT, MALAYSIA

This World Bank funded highway rehabilitation and improvement project was aimed at upgrading the existing federal highway network to cater to the growing traffic spurred by the economic development in Malaysia in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s.

The project covered six sections of highway with a combined length of 453km in Perak, Johor and Pahang, HSS in association with Tonkin & Taylor International and Carl Brothers were appointed to provide consultancy services for the project.

The methodology developed under this project for identification, assessment and rehabilitation procedures established the ‘blueprint’ for future highway rehabilitation works in Malaysia.
