DEVELOPMENT OF KL ECO – CITY (ACCESS RAMPS)
The KL Eco City project is located on the previous Kampung Abdullah Hukum Land bounded by Jalan Bangsar to the west, Sg. Klang to the East and Federal Highway to the South. The project is a mixed development enclave comprising of three residential towers, a hotel and serviced apartment tower, three corporate office towers, 12 boutique office blocks, retail podium and a mosque. HSS was engaged by KLEC Sdn Bhd (KLEC) as the design and construction supervision consultant for all the main ingress and egress access. KLEC is a public-private partnership company between SP Setia Berhad and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur. To facilitate ease of access to and from the Development, several direct ingress and egress ramps were proposed by the traffic consultant to link up with Federal Highway and Jalan Maarof across Sg. Klang. The traffic impact due to the Development also resulted in upgrading of Federal Highway, Jalan Maarof and improvement to New Pantai Expressway (NPE)/Jalan Pantai Baharu Junction, with 13 new uni-directional ramps. The construction of ramps, upgrading of Federal Highway and Jalan Maarof & improvement to NPE/Jalan Pantai Baharu Junction, were carried out by Cantilever Sdn Bhd, Pembinaan NGLC Sdn Bhd and Juang Setia Sdn Bhd. The ramps were designed to cater for a speed of 50 kph. Lower design speed is adopted at constraint areas.
