KARNATAKA EXPRESSWAYS PRIVATISATION, INDIA
HSS was appointed by Actacorp Holdings Berhad to conduct the technical and financial feasibility study and submit reports to the Karnataka State Government on their behalf. The expressway traversed mainly along the existing highway while ranging from flat to mountainous terrains from Bangalore City to Devavali.
This expressway aimed in providing two alternatives:
- The construction of a dual two lane facility from the outskirt of Bangalore City to the proposed International Airport. The expressway goes through rural areas on flat terrain. Three interchanges were proposed along with a 2.5km spur link to NH7 at Yelahanka.
- The improvement and upgrading of the existing highway from two lanes to dual two- lane facilities. The new alignment follows the existing highway with the terrain ranging from flat to mountainous. Nine by-passes around the town were proposed along with nine toll plazas. The second portion of the feasibility study covered the Bangalore-Mangalore stretch of the National Highways with a length of approximately 200km.
