11KV AND 33KV SUB–STATIONS AND VESSEL SUPPLY
AT CT9
Based on a plan to extend the container terminal (CT) up to CT9, there was a requirement to take bulk electricity supply at 33kV from TNB’s network for power supply to the entire development area. The works comprised the 33kV main distribution and 11kV sub-station, 33kV supply using two 30MVA step-down power transformers, and mains to fifteen 11/0.433kV distribution sub-stations feeding the container crane and other power systems. Work also encompassed the external telephone systems, manhole ducting, a SCADA System, a vessel supply system, fire hydrants and the cold water reticulation system. HSS was appointed to provide electrical engineering design inputs covering the provision of cost estimates, the preparation of tender documentation, tender evaluation, and liaison with authorities to secure approvals for construction.
