REPLACEMENT OF WATER SUPPLY PIPES K.LANGAT

A programme to replace old pipes was a key component arising from a concession agreement between the Government and Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd. The agreement required nonrevenue- water to be reduced from 42% in 2005 to 15% by the year 2015. The work involved the replacement of pipes in three areas, namely, Sepang, Kuala Selangor and Kuala Langat, including both rural and urban areas. In total, 230km of pipelines were replaced, ranging in diameter from 150mm to 600mm.
