IKEA STORE, KUALA LUMPUR
The project involved the construction of a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur by IKANO. The site is located at the north end of Jalan Cochrane on a parcel of land of approximately 14 hectares. The buildings consist of an IKEA store with a gross floor area of 41,000 square metres and a two level basement providing 6,440 car parking spaces. HSS was appointed as project management consultant. Specific inputs covered development, implementation and management of project delivery processes and controls, managing the work to ensure that the project is delivered to cost and programme, management of the interface between the construction team, the design team and IKEA, monitoring construction progress and managing the project close-out process.
