FABRICATION OF KBB TOPSIDES

The load tests were initially intended to test the jacking towers and other associated equipment to be used for the Topsides jack-up and first weighing operations. The topside cost is approximately RM1.15 billion structure. After observing the settlement, KPOC & MMHE agreed to postpone the jack-up and weighing of the Topsides (Initially planned for 09-0ct-2013) until the root cause of the problem is determined and the issue resolved. We were engaged by Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering (MMHE) on 15th October 2013 to study, investigate the existing pile, pile cap and skid track structure and to remedy structure to safe condition for the purpose of load out.
